Curly Hair Specialists in Fairfax, VA
Dry-cut, curl by curl, by DevaCurl and Ouidad trained stylists.

The work
Curly hair does not behave like straight hair, and it should not be cut like straight hair. We cut curls dry, in their natural pattern, so we can see exactly how each curl falls and where weight needs to come out before a single section is removed.
Our stylists are trained in both the DevaCurl and Ouidad methods. That matters because the two approaches solve different problems: Deva cutting shapes curl by curl for definition and volume, while the Ouidad carve-and-slice technique removes bulk from dense, tightly coiled hair so curls can nest into each other instead of fighting for room.
If you have been told your hair is 'too thick', left a salon with a triangle shape, or had a stylist cut your curls wet and hand you something unrecognizable once it dried, this is the appointment to book. We will talk through your curl pattern, your routine and your products before we start.
Questions
What people ask about curly hair specialists
Do you cut curly hair wet or dry?
Dry, in your natural curl pattern. Wet cutting hides how much each curl springs up, which is the most common reason a curly cut looks right in the chair and wrong the next morning.
What is the difference between a DevaCut and an Ouidad cut?
A DevaCut shapes each curl individually for definition and volume, and suits loose to medium curl patterns. The Ouidad carve-and-slice method removes internal bulk and suits dense, tight, high-volume curls. We will recommend one after seeing your hair.
Should I come with my hair washed or styled?
Come with your curls clean, dry and styled the way you normally wear them. That is what we need to see to cut accurately.
